EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) EDI is an industry standardized way for systems to talk to each other either locally or remotely. As organisations have large investments in their computerised systems it is important that Warehouse Management Systems can easily co-exist. Using EDI removes the risks inherent in operating disparate systems such as double entry and data entry omissions. Think Warehouse uses EDI to inform other IT systems when events that affect stock levels have occured. Simply scanning goods into your warehouse can silently update a completely different system in another part of the world.  An EDI Example... One of our customers operates an international distribution centre in the UK and one of their customers, based in Italy, produce components for the automotive industry. When stock is scanned into/out of the Think Warehouse system in the UK an EDI message is automatically sent to Italy. This is then processed by the production and ordering system in Italy allowing them to know from their own existing system, exactly what stock they have in the UK, what is in transit, what has been shipped and what needs to be scheduled for the next production run.   Think Warehouse Think Warehouse Made with Xara So simple anyone can use it...
